Prenatal + Postnatal Yoga

At Radiant Light Yoga in Brussels, we have several offerings for yoga and meditation during the prenatal and postnatal period.  Having worked for several years in this field, Kristen has trained with some of the leading experts in yoga, birth preparation, and mindfulness (Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Birthlight, Janet Balaskas, Oxford Centre for Mindfulness).


Pregnancy yoga
Weekly 'Pregnancy Yoga' classes (Monday evenings, Tuesday lunchtimes, and Thursday evenings). These classes help by getting you moving safely, to energise your body and calm your mind. As from 12 weeks of pregnancy. No yoga experience required.


'Yoga + Mindfulness for Childbirth Preparation’ (see events listings for dates). This weekend workshop is an excellent complement to any childbirth education class. We practice various mind/body modalities for working with pain in childbirth; learn how to use the breath as an anchor to the present moment, tapping into inner reserves of strength, confidence and courage; as well as learning how to be fully present as a birth partner. The aim of the workshop is to begin to cultivate the powerful tool of moment-to-moment awareness for birthing and parenting.


 'Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) full course’ (see events listings for dates).  The Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting Program (MBCP) is an adaptation of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.  In the MBCP program, expectant parents practice mindfulness meditation, yoga and mindfulness in daily life. As we actively cultivate mindfulness together we may find that we are able to more fully live the joys and more gracefully navigate the inevitable challenges of this life transforming time while building a foundation and a lifelong resource for healthy living and wise parenting.


Mama + Baby Yoga
Weekly ‘Mama + Baby’ postnatal yoga classes (Tuesdays 14:00-15:00) + Thursdays 15:30-16:30), from 6 weeks after birth (or 8 weeks if C-section) till baby is mobile. The classes are for safely and gently getting back to movement, addressing common aches and pains, learning exercises to do with your baby and enjoying the connection of sharing a class with other mothers and babies.


Mama and Baby Group: on Monday afternoons,  a get-together organised by Antenatal + Baby. This informal group is a lovely way of connecting with a community of other mothers and babies.
