Yoga & Sound
Sunday 8th April (14:00-17:00)

This 3 hour workshop will give an introduction to the philosophy and science of sound and mantra, as well as provide tools to incorporate sound and mantra into your own yoga practice and/or classes.

This in-depth workshop is an Elective module for the trainee teachers on the Radiant Light Yoga 'Yoga Fundamentals' teacher training, and is also open to the general public.

Teachers who are already registered with Yoga Alliance as RYT-200 may attend this workshop to earn Continuing Education hours (3 contact hours, 2 non-contact hours).

Luc Acke is a singer-songwriter, mantra singer and certified hatha, vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga instructor. So far, he has released three critically acclaimed mantra albums, BOLO! (2010), HOME (2013) & GANESHA (2016), and has shared the stage with internationally renowned kirtan artists like Dave Stringer, Donna De Lory, and spiritual leader, physician and author Dr. Deepak Chopra. He was honored to have been named “Yogi of the Year” by Yoga Magazine (The Netherlands) in 2013. Luc loves sharing the joy of chanting, playing live in yoga classes, and teaching workshops that combine yoga and sound, such as restorative/yin yoga & healing sound and mantra yoga.

Inversions and Arm Balancing
Sunday 6th May (14:00-17:00)

This 3 hour intensive will demystify the world of arm balancing and inversions. We’ll discuss the importance of inversions and look at the preparatory poses and sequencing involved in order to advance your own practice and safely guide your students.

This course will include arm balances and inversions, including Bakasana, Pincha Mayurasana, Adho Mukha Vrksasana, Salamba Sirsasana, Salamba Sarvangasana and Viparita Karani. Introducing the essential anatomy, proper setups, alignment and modifications for varying abilities. We will also look at ways to safely integrate arm balances & inversions into group classes.

This in-depth workshop is an Elective module for the trainee teachers in the Radiant Light Yoga Fundamentals teacher training, and is also open to the general public. Space is limited.

Meghan is a Prajna Yoga Certified teacher. She has assisted Tias Little around the world from Big Sur, California to London and currently is part of his 500 hour certification training program. Meghan’s unique history in gymnastics and as a pilot in the US military inspires her passion of flight. She uses intelligent and creative sequencing to guide her students through a balanced practice of effort and ease.

Introduction to Teaching Restorative Yoga
Sunday 8th July (14:00-17:00)

This 3 hour workshop will include: the principles of the practice of Restorative Yoga; the science of relaxation; and learning a beginning restorative sequence.

This in-depth workshop is an Elective module for the trainee teachers on the Radiant Light Yoga 'Yoga Fundamentals' teacher training, and is also open to the general public.

This workshop will not qualify you to be a teacher of Restorative Yoga, if you are interested in taking our Restorative Yoga Teacher Training (in 2019), this workshop is an excellent introduction to gaining certification. Teachers who are already registered as RYT-200 may attend this workshop to earn Continuing Education hours (3 contact hours, 2 non-contact hours).

Dr Kristen MacPherson has learned the art of Restorative Yoga from the teacher who is widely credited with bringing this form of yoga to prominence (Dr Judith Hanson Lasater). Having gained certification in both Level 1 and Level 2 Advanced, she has had the pleasure of assisting Dr Hanson Lasater and Adelene Cheong in their Restorative teacher trainings (in London and in Brussels) and has also studied with Dr Roger Cole. Kristen teaches weekly restorative classes and also leads regular in-depth practices such as 'Self-Care Sunday: Mindfulness Meditation and Restorative Yoga'.

Introduction to Teaching Yin Yoga
Sunday 30th September (14:00-17:00)

This elective, taught by Wesley Bassett, will explain the difference of the Yin from the Yang practices and why the two are equally important to bring a better sense of balance into the body/mind.

We will first cover what effects long deep extensions have on your bodily tissues (muscle, ligament and bone) andd as importantly what pressure does. Compression and decompression will be explained and experienced. We will then go into a handful of the most essential Yin poses and their counter/transition poses so we experience them in our own body.

This in-depth workshop is an Elective module for the trainee teachers in the Radiant Light Yoga Fundamentals teacher training, and is also open to the general public. Space is limited.
